When I was personally asked to be the photographer at the marriage of Johanna and Alexis, I was thrilled as they are also dear friends.
The entire wedding day took place in Paris. The day began at a charming little hotel called, “Hotel des Grands Hommes,” situated across from the Pantheon. The city hall in which they were getting married was also nearby.
Johanna, a gorgeous French actor with a fresh down-to-earth personality, donned an incredible outfit that provoked power and elegance. An ensemble with ladylike appeal and a rock-n-roll vibe from Atelier Blanche matched with funky white boots from Martinez. Her hair was a cool ”coiffé-decoiffé,” as they say in French, done by Julie Hugues and beautiful natural makeup done by Aude Vanhovorst.
Alexis, the handsome Italian groom, was looking sharp in a dark blue Dior suit with a deep red bow-tie from Colonel Moutard and swag shoes from Church. His Italian family and entourage only added to the flair. Their humor and body language were absolutely charming.
They were married by Johanna’s father, who held a captivating ceremony for the couple. From the first moment that our bride entered the hall with her mother, to the end when her father announced them husband and wife, there was joy and laughter in the air.
As Johanna is used to being in front of the camera and Alexis was a natural, the photo shoot at Parc de Luxembourg and other parts of Paris were a breeze.
The reception venue, La Maison Sage, was a great place for cocktails and good music in the evening time, located in the center of Paris. They booked the whole place for a private wedding party with an open bar and snacks. It had an ultra modern party atmosphere, especially when Johanna and Alexis arrived with a grand entrance. It was magic. I honestly didn’t know that Alexis could sing so well! It was so adorable to see him sing to Johanna while she danced with him. Another great moment was when Ofenbach stepped on stage and performed, “Be Mine.” Johanna played the girl character in that music video and she surprised Alexis with that same act but this time it was on him .
The night continued with more surprises from friends and lots of dance and cheering. When my job was done for the night, the dance floor was still on fire. Johanna and Alexis were the happiest couple in the whole world that night.
Congratulations to both of you lovely souls, I wish you a life full of joy and love together. -S
